About

We were engaged by Example to breathe soul into the iconic Straddie Hotel. Our mission was to capture the sun-soaked spirit of the '70s through to the '90s and translate it into a contemporary hospitality experience.

Embracing a nostalgic, era-inspired approach, the design reflects the laidback surf culture of Straddie’s heyday. Our team curated and designed an eclectic furniture mix; from tiled tables to rattan-inspired metal seating built for the coastal elements. The space is layered with vintage memorabilia, timeworn objects, and custom hand-painted signage & murals.

Our role extended beyond design; we managed the complete sourcing, scheduling, and procurement lifecycle, navigating the unique freight and installation logistics required for an island location.
